Southwest of Long Caye is a dive site named Quebrada meaning gorge or breaking reef in Spanish. It is a wide sandy ravine or cut in the reef at a place where the wall is extremely sheer. The cut provides for some extra flow which in turn attracts more plankton and more fish species that feed on them. You will see snappers, dolphins, banded coral shrimp, groupers, trigger fish, tarpon, turtles and moray eels. Quebrada is one of the most diverse dive sites off Long Caye, where many species used to be fed and will approach you to within feet.
